Zendaya, star of the Disney show “Shake It Up,” is coming to Joliet, the Joliet Park District announced Tuesday.

The teenage actress, musician and dancer will perform at Taste of Joliet on June 30. She will perform at 4 p.m. and meet with fans at 5 p.m.

In addition to her appearances on “Shake It Up” and other Disney Channel shows, Zendaya recorded her debut album last year and finished second this season on the “Dancing With the Stars” TV show. She also has appeared in movies.

Taste of Joliet also will feature the Radio Disney Junior Road Crew, which will host games, activities and a special “Doc McStuffins” participation event based on the animated TV series. Children can bring stuffed animals for checkups during the “Doc McStuffins” activity.

The Radio Disney Junior Road Crew will be at Taste of Joliet starting at noon June 30.

Taste of Joliet, which is run by the park district, will be June 28 to 30 at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium, 3000 W. Jefferson St.

General admission is $10. Children under 12 are free.

The 16-year-old actress just inked a book deal with Disney Publishing Worldwide!

In her first book, “In Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence”, Zendaya will dish tons of advice for navigating the tween years with all the tools needed to be happy and healthy.

“The tween years can be really fun and exciting, but they can also be a tough time in a girl’s life,” she shared in a statement. “You’re just finding your voice and personal style. There’s a lot of drama in relationships with other girls, parents, siblings, teachers, and boys. I hope this book will help girls through the tougher parts of the tween years and help them appreciate the fun parts.”

The book will also feature personal photos, candid anecdotes, recipes, playlists, doodles, and advice from Zendaya’s team of experts.

“In Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence” will hit shelves on August 6th.

ZENDAYA BAND AUDITIONS

Zendaya, actress, dancer, vocalist, star of Disney Channel’s Shake It Up, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and Hollywood Records recording artist is holding open auditions to find band members for her upcoming music tour.

She will be auditioning for the following:

• drummer,
• bass guitarist,
• lead guitarist,
• DJ, and
• keyboard player.

Drummers must bring their own drum sticks, but a drum kit will be provided for you. The bass and guitar players must bring their own guitars. The DJ will need to bring their own computer. All other gear will be provided for you.

The Band Auditions will be held:

• May 2, 3, 4, 2013
• Noon – 8:00 PM
• 1200 South Hope St., Los Angeles, CA 90015

How to Audition:

Send an email to ZendayaAuditions@gmail.com with:

(1) Your full name, (2) Age, (3) Address & Phone Number, (4) what position you will be auditioning for, (5) a recent photo, and (6) links (if available) to any videos of you performing. Once received, you will be emailed your audition day and the Band Audition Registration Form and Release to print & complete and bring with you to the audition.

You may arrive to the audition without submitting an email, but you will be required to complete all information on site and will be called last, after all registered contestants have completed auditioning.

If under 18, you must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian. We cannot guarantee audition times or how long you will have to wait to be seen.

All ages five (5+) and up are encouraged to audition!
